南西諸島の石垣島及び西表島と台湾に分布する。枯れ枝に生息し、恐らく食菌性。本属は中胸前腹板と中胸真腹板が中央で融合することで特異で、東アジアの熱帯・亜熱帯から18種が知られる。

This species is distributed in Ishigaki Is. and Iriomote Is., the Ryukyu Islands, and is also known from Taiwan. It lives on dead branches and is probably a fungus-feeder. This genus is unique in that the mesopresternum and mesoeusternum are fused medially, and 18 species have been known from the tropics and subtropics of East Asia.
